BACKGROUND

Dr. Amir Shooshtari is a Research Professor with extensive experience in thermal management and system design spanning over 25 years. Since earning his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering in 2004, he has been a member of the research faculty at the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Shooshtari has conducted research in various areas, including additive manufacturing, design optimization, computational fluid dynamics, thermal management of electronics, and process intensification. He has authored or co-authored over 80 publications in international journals and conferences, which have received over 1800 citations according to Google Scholar. Dr. Shooshtari is also a member of ASHRA ASME and has contributed to several projects funded by government agencies or industrial companies as the principal investigator or co-investigator. He is the recipient of the ASHRAE Grant-in-aid Fellowship (2003–2004) and the ASHRAE National Capital Chapter Scholarship Award (2003).
