Bacellar Wins Best Student Consortium Presentation Award
University of Maryland graduate research assistant Daniel Bacellar received the inaugural Best Consortium Student Presentation Award at the CEEE fall consortium meetings held September 14-16 at the University of Maryland. His presentation, Miniaturized Air-to-Refrigerant Heat Exchangers/U.S. DOE MHX Project Updates, took place during the Modeling and Optimization Consortium meeting.
Sponsors rated presenters on quality and clarity of the presentation, as well as level of interest in the content. Bacellar ranked highly in all categories, and had favorable comments from the sponsors about his adeptness at fielding questions.
A total of 65 people took part in person and 11 online. Additionally, eight countries were represented: United States, Egypt, China, Brazil, South Korea, India, and Japan. There were industry members from 24 companies. The events took place over three days, filled with 36 informative presentations and many opportunities for industry members and academic participants to mingle, such as the Student/Sponsor Reception held at Busboys and Poets.
The spring consortium meetings will be held Monday, March 7-Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Online registration will be available in December.
