Welcome to the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering!

Our offices and laboratories are conveniently located near the main entrance to the University of Maryland, College Park. The university is located just a few miles from Washington, D.C. and is in proximity to three major airports. The campus is easily accesible through public transportation.

    • From Route 1/Baltimore Avenue, turn onto Campus Drive at the main gates to campus. After crossing Paint Branch Drive, you will see Glenn L. Martin Hall (a very long building) on your right.
    • The CEEE offices are on the fourth floor and accessed by Elevator 2, located at the rear corner of the building nearest Paint Branch Drive (enter the back lobby through the door under the glass pedestrian walkway).  The elevator is next to the vending machine.
    From Route 1, turn onto Campus Drive at the main gates to campus. Then turn right just before Glenn L. Martin Hall onto Paint Branch Drive.

    Plane IconFrom Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport

    • Upon exiting the airport, follow signs for I-195 West
    • Follow I-195 West to I-95 South towards Washington, DC
    • Take I-95 South towards I-495 and Washington, DC
    • As you approach I-495, follow directions towards I-495 West and merge into farthest left lane
    • Almost immediately after leaving I-95 for I-495, take left exit for Route 1 South (Exit 25)
    • Follow Route 1 South towards College Park/University of Maryland for two miles
    • Turn right onto Campus Drive.
    • Glenn L. Martin Hall is on the right, after crossing Paint Branch Drive.

    Plane IconFrom Dulles International Airport (IAD)

    • Exit airport on Dulles Airport Access Road East.
    • Follow Dulles Airport Access Road East for about 13 miles.
    • Exit Dulles Airport Access Road onto I-495 North.
    • Follow I-495 (the Capital Beltway) for about 18 miles.
    • Get off at Exit 25B (U.S. Route 1 South toward College Park).
    • Go South on U.S. Route 1 for two miles.
    • Turn right onto Campus Drive.
    • Glenn L. Martin Hall is on the right, after crossing Paint Branch Drive.

    Plane IconFrom Reagan National Airport (DCA)

    • Exit airport to the north (towards Washington, D.C.).
    • Get onto George Washington Memorial Highway.
    • Within 1 mile, turn right onto U.S. Route 1 / I-395 North (to DC).
    • Stay in left lane while crossing bridge over Potomac River.
    • Pass Washington Monument on left, turn right onto Constitution Ave.
    • Go eight blocks and turn left (North) onto 6th Street, NW.
    • Go about 1.5 miles and bear right onto Rhode Island Ave.
    • Go 7.5 miles to College Park, turn left at Campus Drive.
    • Glenn L. Martin Hall is is on the right, after crossing Paint Branch Drive.

    The College Park, University of Maryland stop is on the GREEN line, one stop before the northern end of the line in Greenbelt.  Schedules, maps and a trip planner can be found on the Metro website or by calling 202-637-7000.  

    From Union Station, DC

    Take the RED line train toward Glenmont.  Exit at Fort Totten and switch onto the GREEN line, lower level, toward Greenbelt. Take the GREEN line to the College Park, University of Maryland Station. Follow directions below from College Park Metro Station.

    From Reagan National Airport

    Take the YELLOW line (Huntington to Mount Vernon) toward Mount Vernon Square.  Exit at Gallery Place Chinatown and transfer to the GREEN line toward Greenbelt.  Exit at the College Park Metro Station and follow the directions below from the metro station.

    The College Park station is on the MARC Camden Line (Union Station, DC-Camden Station, Baltimore).  The College Park MARC Station is immediately adjacent to the College Park Metro Station. From the MARC stop, take the tunnel under the Metro tracks and follow the directions from the College Park Metro Station. For information on schedules and fares, visit the MTA website.  

     

    From the College Park Metro Station

    Take the Shuttle-UM Bus (College Park Metro Station Route) from Bay E to go directly to the main campus.  All visitors can take this shuttle route without charge. 

    For Glenn L. Martin Hall or the C.D. Mote Engineering Laboratory Building, disembark at the Glenn L. Martin Wind Tunnel.  Cross Paint Branch Drive at the crosswalk, and the buildings will be to your left. The CEEE offices are on the fourth floor of Glenn L. Martin Hall and are accessed by Elevator 2, located at the rear corner of the building nearest Paint Branch Drive (enter the back lobby through the door under the glass pedestrian walkway).

    For the Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building or A. James Clark Hall, disembark at the  A.V. Williams Building.  Cross Paint Branch Drive at the crosswalk to access the two buildings.

     

    Visitor Parking is available nearby in:

    • Xfinity Center Visitor Lot. After entering the main campus entrance from Route 1/Baltimore Avenue,  turn right just before Glenn L. Martin Hall onto Paint Branch Drive. Continue past the engineering complex, cross Regents Drive, and turn left into the Xfinity Visitor lot (across from the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex). Read signs carefully to ensure you are in the correct lot. To walk to the engineering complex, exit right onto Paint Branch Drive and continue along that road to find A. James Clark Clark Hall, Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building, C. D. Mote Engineering Laboratory Building and Glenn L. Martin Hall, all on the right side.
    • Regents Drive Garage. After entering the main campus entrance on Route 1/Baltimore Avenue,  pass Glenn L. Martin Hall and turn right on Regents Drive. Turn left on Fieldhouse Drive; Regents Drive Garage is immediately on the right. Visitor parking is on the top floor. 

    Visitor parking costs $4 per hour, with a maximum of $20 per day. You can pay at the pay station with a credit/debit card, or you can pay with the ParkMobile app. See the visitor parking map.
